From Haïfa to Paris
2016 / 2017
In September 2016, we launched an artistic project with Pngwng Cru, a Palestinian Hip Hop group from Haïfa, Israel. Emanating from the quite restricted Arab underground music scene, their sound is allied with Trap along with traditional arabic sonorities. Bassem, Farouk and Sohel sing/rap, record and produce all their content independently in Haifa. This collaborative project linking us together gives space for several artistic disciplines such as; photography, the fine arts, music passing through videography, design, etc.
The concluding event of these exchanges results in a concert release party of their EP, an art exhibition, at the Petit Bain, in Paris.The collaboration of LTR Worldwide & Pngwng Cru unfolds through different artistic practices and platforms motivated by shared interests, tastes and references.
The common EP, which is the product of a nearly solely virtual collaboration - we have stayed true to composing pieces that illustrate a real dialogue between both groups and their respective cultures. On each bilingual or trilingual record, members of LTR and Pngwng Cru meet, exchange and complement each other in an unique style.
The fanzine showcases both groups and their collaboration, in an individual and collective way
through articles, interviews, illustrations, paintings, and photographs.
